    Assam Govt Orders Not To Restrict Vehicles Supplying Food Grains Amid Lockdown

    The government also fixed separate timing of operation for wholesalers and retailers

    In view of the outbreak of COVID-19, the Assam government on March 26th, 2020, issued an advisory on the movement of vehicles supplying and sliming food grains as well as operation of daily markets for fruits and vegetables.

    The entire nation is complete lockdown since the intervening night of March 24th and 25th, 2020, for 21 days. The Assam government has put full effort to make the essential services accessible to the people of the state in parallel to the fight against the spread of the virus.

    The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department has also fixed the opening timing for the grocery and chemist shops, fruits and vegetable vendors in the state. The department fixed the timing of operation for wholesalers from 8 am to 4 pm and for retailers from 8 am to 7 pm.
