Assam Govt signs Petroleum Mining Lease Deeds with OIL
Guwahati: Assam government has signed eight (8) Petroleum Mining Lease (PML) blocks with Oil India Ltd on Tuesday.
The eight PML blocks blocks were Dibrugarh, Dibrugarh Extn, Hugrijan Extn, Borhapjan, Borhat, Moran, Dumduma Extn and Mechaki Extn.
Assam government was expected to receive more than 2000 crores of rupees from Oil India Limited annually.
State’s Mines and Minerals Dept minister Jogen Mohan assured that state government would provide all possible support to OIL in its quest of hydrocarbon He requested OIL to enhance the employment generation to the local people. He emphasized on the need of nations self-reliance in energy and economic growth of the country.
Prasanta Borkakoty of OIL nformed about OIL plan to ramp up crude oil and gas productions by enhancing its exploration and development program.
