    Assam: GU official website ‘hacked’?

    GUWAHATI: The official website of Gauhati University (GU) was reportedly hacked on Friday morning.

    However, the website was reportedly restored subsequently and currently, the website https://www.gauhati.ac.in/ has been working smoothly.

    Sources in the university assured that no sensitive data has been compromised and the authority has decided to upgrade the security measures of the website shortly.

    However, no official confirmation has come yet from GU authority.

    At the same time, a screenshot of the ‘hacked’ website has been also making rounds on social media platforms.

    The image of the screenshot read, “Message from God. Happy Valentine’s Day Manish.”

    However, GU authority did not confirm the authenticity of the screenshot.

    Earlier in 2019 also, the university website was hacked.
