Guwahati: Hiren Gohain Eminent litterateur and president of Nagarikatta Sangshudhani Ain Birudhi Samannai Samity, an anti Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) civil body, Hiren Gohain has urged the people of the state to resume the anti CAA movement in a stronger way .
He appealed that people should remain united to take forward the ongoing anti-CAA movement by thwarting the “attempts to divide them and by rejecting the politics of sops.”
Gohain also informed that a state conference will be held on January 29 at the District Library, Guwahati, to discuss matters relating to the anti-CAA movements.
He also said that they would demand the release of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi and others who have been arrested.
Gohain asked that if people want their government to form then they will have to come together and fight against the BJP-led government.
“It has become necessary to carry on thin ongoing anti-CAA movement against the Centre and the state government so that the law is withdrawn. We appeal to the people to remain united and reject the politics of the sops,” Gohain said.
