Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday accepted the Class 10 board exam paper leak was a government’s failure in the state Assembly.
Sarma said that the mastermind of the question paper leak of the General Science subject of the HSLC examination has been identified.
One centre in charge of a school in Assam and 3-4 teachers are involved in the paper, Sarma added.
“We have taken the statements of the witnesses. We will make appropriate measures to give stern action against them as per law,” Sarma added.
Meanwhile, Assam DGP, GP Singh said that at as many as 25 people were arrested and out of them 12 are Children in conflict with the law.
The student will be presented in the Juvenile Justice Board, where they can be examined as per the orders, Singh added.
At least three arrested are the headmistress, a teacher and a grade four employee of a government school in Guwahati.
“We have received 3-day custody of the adult accused and their investigation is in progress”, Singh said.
“CID has examined various Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) officials in the last 3 days and action will be taken against whoever is involved”, DGP added.
On March 12, SEBA issued a notification cancelling the General Science paper of the HSLC examination scheduled for 9 am on Monday after images of a handwritten version of the question paper began doing the rounds.
However, SEBA announced a fresh date of the cancelled examination of General Science scheduled on March 13 will be held on March 30, 2023.
The board also released the date of the English examination, which was cancelled in JR Higher Secondary School, Ganirgram under Cachar district, which will be held on March 28.
