Guwahati: A leopard died after allegedly being hit by a vehicle in Assam’s Nagaon district on Sunday night
The incident took place at Nagaon bypass road when the leopard, believed to be crossing the road, was hit by a vehicle.
However, the leopard died on the spot, said sources.
The forest department team rushed to the spot and recovered the carcass of the leopard.
The body of the animal was sent for post-mortem, officially stated.
Earlier, on February 13 too, a carcass of an adult leopard was recovered in Mariani, Jorhat district. The leopard was first spotted by the owner of the tea estate, after which he informed authorities.
