Guwahati: A local holiday has been declared on April 28 within the jurisdiction of Dibrugarh and Karbi Anglong districts on account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state.

On that day, all state government offices, educational institutions, etc within the two districts will remain closed, said an official order on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate seven new cancer hospitals in Assam’s Dibrugarh. He will also lay the foundation stone for seven other cancer hospitals in the state.

“His first program will be in Diphu and after that, he will inaugurate seven new cancer hospitals in Dibrugarh,” said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
