Guwahati: A massive fire that broke out at the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) in Assam’s Golaghat district on Monday evening.
The fire broke out at the Hydrocracker unit of NRL at approximately 7:20 pm.
The fire and safety department personnel of the NRL and fire tenders had rushed to the spot.
“The fire broke out at the Hydrocracker unit of NRL. Our fire and safety department personnel have immediately engaged in work to douse the flame”, said official.
However, the fire is under control and there is no report of any casualty in the incident, official added.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and preliminary findings are being examined.
Earlier in the last week of March, the refinery was shut down for maintenance and has been restarting operations a unit at a time since May 15.
The affected hydrocracker was undergoing post-startup stabilisation when part of it caught fire, the person added.
