    Assam: Mob Lynched One in Karbi Anglong

    The mob allegedly took the victim to a nearby ground, tied him to a post and started beating him with sticks and sharp weapons

    GUWAHATI: Mob Lynched One in Karbi Anglong : A 40-year-old was allegedly beaten to death in yet another incident of alleged mob lynching in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Sunday evening.

    At least eight persons were arrested in connection with the incident so far.

    Police sources said that the victim identified as one Monsing Rongpi, a resident of Barelong Bey village area, was allegedly beaten to death after he had allegedly misbehaved a woman from nearby Karashi Bey village.

    The mob allegedly took the victim to a nearby ground, tied him to a post and started beating him with sticks and sharp weapons. “The victim reportedly died on the spot,” said police sources adding that more arrests were possible in the case.
