Guwahati: Gold Medalist Nayanmoni Saikia was conferred with Arjuna Award 2022 by President Draupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
On Thursday, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated Nayan Moni Saikia after she received the award.
Taking to Twitter, Sarma wrote, “Heartiest congratulations Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nayanmoni Saikia for receiving Arjuna Award 2022 from Hon’ble President Smt Droupadi Murmu Ji. Assam is proud of you. My best wishes for your future endeavours.”
Nayanmoni Saikia is one of the team members of the Indian Women team who bagged the gold medal in the Lawn Bowl at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
Altogether 41 sports personalities were conferred with National Sports Awards 2022 on Wednesday.
