Guwahati: In a major success, Assam police finished a newly floated militant outfit in the state on Wednesday.
The newly floated militant outfit namely the Dimasa National Liberation Tigers (DNLT) came into existence last month.
Police sources said that the outfit was formed by only seven members who were a breakaway faction of several other militant outfits of Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts.
They were allegedly trying to recruit more members in the outfit and were raising funds, said police sources.
Assam’s special director general of police, GP Singh informed, “Militant organisation DNLT floated on Sept 13th in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts has been neutralised by the state police with arrest of all seven leaders or cadres and recovery of arms and explosives.”
