Guwahati: The members of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), Assam unit urged the Gauhati University to postpone the M.Com first semester examination until the Coronavirus situation returns to normal.
The students union in their letter to the Vice-Chancellor of GU has also requested to reduce the syllabus of the exam as the entire syllabus has not been covered yet.
In letter read, “After reviewing the situation of the rapidly spreading COVID19 in the city, it is necessary to postpone the examination for the health status of the students at present to prevent community spreading. The exam should be held at a later date when the situation is less risky for students.”
Meanwhile, Assam recorded 499 cases on Thursday as per the National Health Mission.
Kamrup Metro district again being at the top reported around 255 cases on Thursday, whereas, Dibrugarh district now comes second with 64 cases.
On the other hand, Kamrup recorded 31 cases and Tinsukia 24 cases till this evening.
The state currently has 3,613 active cases, while, 2,16,284 patients have recovered from the disease. The COVID-19 recovery rate is 97.26%.
