    Assam: Patharkandi Congress leader arrested in Guwahati

    Kabir Ahmed was arrested from the Hatigaon area of Guwahati by sub inspector Utpal Sarma of Patharkandi police station along with officials of Hatigaon police station.

    Assam: Patharkandi Congress leader arrested in Guwahati

    Guwahati: In a recent development, police on Thursday arrested a Congress member, who is seeking ticket to contest the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.

    Reportedly, several complaints have been registered against the accused Kabir Ahmed in Patharkandi police station in Karimganj for obstruction in lawful apprehension of a person and for voluntarily causes grievous hurt by means of any weapon. Further causes for the arrest are yet to be ascertained.

    Ahmed was arrested from the Hatigaon area of Guwahati by sub inspector Utpal Sarma of Patharkandi police station along with officials of Hatigaon police station.

    A case has been registered against the accused under the sections 188/224/353/333/326/307 of the Indian penal Code.
