Guwahati: The Assam Police announced a reward of Rs two lakh for anyone with information about the poachers who chopped and stole the horn of a live rhino at Orang National Park.
Unknown poachers have been charged at Dalgaon police station under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act, said official.
The Darrang superintendent of police has announced a reward of Rs two lakh to anyone who can provide credible information regarding the poacher responsible for this heinous crime, official claimed.
Miscreants entered into the protected region of the Orang National Park a few days ago and tranquillized one rhino.
However, they chopped off the animal’s horn while keeping the animal alive.
