Guwahati: In a major development to the sensational Batadrava incident, Assam police have arrested a total of 21 people including 15 women in connection to the incident.

The girl (student of the eighth standard) who poured petrol at the police station was also arrested.

A video showing a girl pouring petrol at a police station earlier went viral after the incident came to the fore on Saturday.

Speaking to the media, the girl identified as Sabina Khatun said, “They asked me to pour the petrol and I did it. I don’t know their identities.”

On the other hand, the administration of Nagaon has launched a massive eviction drive at two villages namely the Salnabari areas.

Three residences of the deceased Safiqul Islam and his brothers Mojibur Rahman/Imran Ali respectively have been reportedly demolished by bulldozers in Salnabari.

Meanwhile, special DGP GP Singh reached Batadrava on Sunday to take stock of the situation.
