Assam: Police digs out huge caches of arms and ammunition in Baksa

Acting on specific inputs, Assam police in a joint operation with Baksa Police dig out AK Rifles, magazines and ammunition buried by the bank of River Diring in Baksa district on Friday.

GUWAHATI: Acting on specific inputs, Assam police in a joint operation with Baksa Police dig out AK Rifles, magazines and ammunition buried by the bank of River Diring in Baksa district on Friday.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of additional superintendent of Baksa Police, Lamhao Dongal.

The police recovered 47 Rifles and 520 live ammunition which was buried near Sinadi basti in Baksa district.

Informing about the development, Assam ADGP GP Singh wrote in Twitter: “Again…!!! Buried by the bank of River Diring in Baksa district. Two AK Rifles, magazines and ammunition. Unearthed today by @BaksaPol @DGPAssamPolice @assampolice @CMOfficeAssam.”
