Assam Polls: APCC general secretary Ranjan Borah quits party
Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee’s organizational general secretary Ranjan Borah resigned from party on Wednesday.
Borah alleged that the party has promised him ticket for several times but later they chose another person.
“APCC president Ripun Bora himself said that he would talk on behalf of me and offered me ticket but when time came, the ticked was given to others,” Borah revealed.
He also alleged that the Congress is indulging in lobby politics and candidates are provided tickets on behalf of money. “Even after working for such a long time for a party, I was denied ticket for five times. So I took the decision and resigned from the party,” Borah added.
Bora who was the convener of the party’s core committee said that the party provided ticket for East Guwahati constituency by taking money.
Taking about 5 guarantees of Congress, he said that he was unaware of such guarantees.
