GUWAHATI: The two rivals in the Bodoland region, Hagrama Mohilary led Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) which is a part of Congress-led grand alliance and Promod Boro-led United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) released their first list of candidates for the ensuing polls on Monday.
BPF’s first list comprised of four candidates – Durgadas Boro from Kolaigaon seat, Rihan Daimary in Udalguri, Charan Boro in Mazbat and Karuna Kanta Swargiary in Panery seat. Durgadas Boro secured a BPF party ticket just after joining the party. He recently quit the Congress party.
On the other hand, UPPL has fielded only two candidates- Gobinda Chandra Basumtary from Udalguri and Ratendra Daimary from Mazbat.
Out of 126 seats, the BJP led alliance has decided to field at least eight UPPL candidates in the ensuing polls. BJP has left 26 seats for AGP too.
