Assam Polls: RaGa Gives Sixth Guarantee; Assures Assam Won’t Be Run from Nagpur

Guwahati: At a time when Congress assured with its 5 guarantees to the people of Assam, Rahul Gandhi comes out with the sixth one with an assurance to run the Congress-AIUDF ‘Mahajot’ alliance from Assam, not from Nagpur or Delhi, if voted to power.

He strongly claimed to dissolve the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the parliament once the Congress-AIUDF ‘Mahajot’ forms the government in Assam.

Addressing a rally in Nalbari on Wednesday, Rahul said, “The people of Assam don’t want CAA to be implemented in the state. CAA is an attack on the state of Assam; it will divide, destroy and spread hatred.”

He added, “Nobody in the world can implement CAA in Assam and we will prove it after the elections, just wait and watch.”

Rahul alleged that the BJP party spreads hatred wherever they formed their Government. “BJP’s prime target is to take away Assam’s properties like tea gardens, airport, oil fields, etc and deal out with their close to close aids (i.e. two-three business tycoons),” added Rahul.

Gandhi also spoke about the unemployment situation in the state, assuring the youth with creating five lakh government jobs in five years.

Furthermore, he assured of giving free electricity up to 200 units per household, raising tea workers’ wages to Rs 365 and a stipend of Rs 2000 for housewives in the state.
