Mira Borthakur Goswami president of Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress stages protest in Guwahati

Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress on Thursday burnt the effigy of state cabinet minister Ajanta Neog to protest against the alleged unlawful practices by a private security officer at the residence of the said minister.

Terming the incident as unfortunate and alarming, the Mahila Congress state president Mira Borthakur Goswami demanded the resignation of minister Ajanta Neog from her current post.

“It is very unfortunate that such an incident took place at the residence of a BJP minister who gives priority to the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign,” said Mira Borthakur Goswami.
