Guwahati: Railways have commissioned a new track on the Naranarayan Setu bridge across the Brahmaputra River in Assam.
Completion of this work will be an important step in the new Bongaigaon to Kamakhya doubling project, informed Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal.
Earlier in 2019, the government has approved the doubling of the vital railway line connecting Guwahati with New Bongaigaon at a cost of Rs 2,042 crore.
This project has been executed by the Northeast Frontier Railway and is expected to complete by 2022-2023.
