GUWAHATI: Assam recorded 2,394 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, to reach a tally of 1,48,968 cases. The new cases were out of 32,478 tests conducted in 24 hours, taking the positivity in the start to a high of 7.37%.
Kamrup (M) saw 556 cases, followed by Dibrugarh at 184, Jorhat at 161 and Golaghat at 158 among others.
Across the state, 2,464 patients were discharged on Wednesday, and 19 people succumbed to COVID-19 related infections.
Informing about the deceased, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “My condolences to the bereaved families!”
Meanwhile, the state’s overall COVID report stands at 1,48,968 total cases, 1,19,364 discharged, 29,092 active cases, 511 deaths and three migrated to other states.
