Assam Records 78.52% Turnout Till 7 PM In Phase 3

A total of 78.52 per cent voter turnout has been recorded in Assam in the third phase of the Lok Sabha polls till 7 pm, which is being held in four seats on April 23rd, 2019.

The four Lok Sabha seats where voting was held in the third phase of 2019 Lok Sabha election are – Kokrajhar, Gauhati, Barpeta and Dhubri.

Among the four constituencies, Dhubri recorded the highest polling with 81.29 per cent, followed by Gauhati which recorded 78.75 per cent, Barpeta which recorded 77.65 per cent and Kokrajhar (ST) recorded 76.16 per cent. The average poll percentage is 78.52 per cent.

In Assam, 10 Lok Sabha constituencies have already gone to the polls – five each in the first and second phase of polling held on April 11th and April 18th, 2019.

In the third phase, a total of 74,77,062 eligible voters, including 36,61,570 females and 157 third gender voters have sealed the fate of 54 candidates.
