Guwahati: Assam on Wednesday reported another 89 COVID-19 fatalities, thus, taking the death toll to 2,433, while 6,143 new cases pushed the tally to 3,47,001.
Altogether 4,057 patients recovered from COVID-19 till Wednesday.
Total patients discharged so far in the state is 2,94,831.
Currently, the state has a total of 48,390 active cases with a positivity rate of 6.02%.
Covid tests so far conducted in Assam is around 97,76,474.
Of the 89 deaths in Assam, 26 were reported from the Kamrup Metropolitan district and eight from Dibrugarh district. The remaining deaths were registered in several other districts.
Moreover, among the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district alone reported 913 cases, followed by 448 in Nagaon, 438 in Cachar and 397 in Dibrugarh.
Notably, the recovery rate now stands at 84.97%.
