Guwahati: Assam has reported 344 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, taking the tally to 7,26,885 cases, official said.

The number of active COVID-19 cases has increased to 1,858, while the positivity rate stood at 11.58 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, at least 93 cured cases of the virus were discharged.

Meanwhile, no fresh fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours.

A total of 7,17,0366 people have recovered from the disease so far including 93, with the discharge rate at 98.65 per cent.

The state has thus far recorded 6,642 coronavirus fatalities, while 1,347 patients have died due to other reasons since 2020.

Kamrup Metropolitan, which primarily comprises Guwahati city, reported 92 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, followed by 42 in Kamrup (Rural), 25 in Darrang and 18 in Dibrugarh.

Dibrugarh district recorded the highest number of new cases at 58, followed by 49 in Kamrup rural, Kamrup Metro (43) and Dhubri (22).
