    Assam reports 5 new COVID-19 cases; lowest since April last

    14 more people were cured of the disease, taking the recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state to 98.76%.

    Guwahati: In its latest report, Assam on Tuesday has registered the lowest single-day spike since April last year. The state recorded 5 new such cases.

    With the fresh infections, the overall tally reached to 2,17,309 Coronavirus cases.

    14 more people were cured of the disease, taking the recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state to 98.76%.

    However, the state’s coronavirus death toll remained unchanged at 1,347 as no fresh fatality was reported.

    The state so far has vaccinated 1,29,603 people, including 5,249 who received the second dose.

    Meanwhile, Assam now has 258 active cases, while 2,14,615 people have been recovered from the disease and thee patients migrated.

    The state so far tested over 66.09 lakh samples for COVID-19 including 11,922 in last 24 hours.
