Assam Science Technology University to conduct offline mode examination

Guwahati: The All Assam Engineering Students Union (AAESU), which includes students from numerous engineering institutions in Assam, staged yet another protest in front of the Assam Science Technology University office for demanding online exams.

Shortly after the demonstrations, ASTU officials issued a notice announcing that the Odd Semester End Term examinations will be held in February 2022 in an offline mode.

According to notice, special offline exams will be conducted for students who are in home isolation or are hospitalised due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the dates for the special exam will be notified later.

Furthermore, ASTU also urged all institutions to follow COVID-19 SOP/guidelines issued by  state govt.

“There are roughly 20 colleges affiliated under ASTU and there are over 2000 students alone in colleges like AEC,” one of the students had previously stated.

Despite the fact that 177 positive cases have been found at the AEccampus, officials have said that they will conduct an offline examination, putting the lives of thousands of students in risk, student added.

The students who were protesting also stated that they had previously requested online exams and that the government had completely supported them.
