Guwahati: In the second operation of the day against corrupt government officials, the anti corruption and vigilance wing of state police on Wednesday arrested a Lat Mondal from Kamrup district.
The accused was identified as one Madan Nath, Lat Mondal of Nagarbera revenue circle in the district. Police said he was trapped and arrested while accepting bribe money.
Earlier in the day, another sleuth of anti corruption and vigilance chased down one forest ranger Debabrata Gogoi after he tried to flee from his office with a handful of bribery money.
Meanwhile, the sleuth has also raided a residence belonging to Gogoi in Guwahati. Several incriminating documents were reportedly seized during the operation.
