Assam sees another dip in daily Covid-19 caseload, reports 6,897 infections
Guwahati: Assam continues to report a dip as COVID cases drop from 7,929 to 6,897 in the last 24 hours.
The COVID-19 case tally in Assam rose to 6, 84,954.
The positivity rate stands at 12.13%.
At least 15 more people died as a result of the disease, taking the death toll to 6,275.
Currently, the number of active COVID-19 cases is 45,021.
Notably, the new 6,897 cases were found from 56,849 sample tests conducted on Friday.
The Kamrup Metropolitan district, which includes Guwahati city, had 1,561 new cases, while, Dibrugarh confirmed 385 new cases, Jorhat 377 and Kamrup (R), according to the state health ministry.
The death rate in the state currently is 0.92%, while the number of COVID-19 positive patients dying due to other reasons stands at 1,347.
A total of 2,979 patients were discharged on Thursday.
