Guwahati: The double murder case in Guwahati has shaken the country to the core. However, similar cases have come to light on Tuesday, a man allegedly killed his own sister-in-law and chopped her body into pieces with a sharp tool in the Jorhat district.
The incident took place at the Titabar area in the district.
The accused has been identified as Sajjan Paul.
Paul stabbed cut his sister-in-law named Rekha Shyam, into pieces.
As per the report, after committing the crime, the accused tried to flee from the spot. Meanwhile, villagers immediately nabbed him and were beaten mercilessly before they handed him over to the police.
Later, Paul was taken to the hospital for treatment.
However, the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained as police are investigating into the matter.
Last week too, a woman allegedly killed her husband by stabbing him with a pair of scissors in the Cachar district in the state.
