GUWAHATI: State Museum Come Thursday and you can take a glimpse of the newly developed Natural History Gallery and the Mayurpokhi Khel-Nao Gallery at the Assam State Museum.
The museum is opening the newly developed Natural History Gallery and the Mayurpokhi Khel-Nao Gallery for the public on January 22.
“The Natural History Gallery reflects the rich bio-diversity of the State and its aim to provide a learning experience for the visitors about the various species of flora and fauna,” said an official statement from the state government.
Adding to it, the Mayurpokhi Khel-Nao Gallery will display the Khel-Nao introduced in the Kamalabari Satra during the period of Sri Sri Badula Padma Ata.
It was donated to the Assam State Museum by the Satra Samiti in the year 1973. The Curated Gallery showcasing the Mayurpokhi Khel-Nao highlights the cultural significance and the rich heritage of the Vaishnavite culture of Kamalabari Satra in Majuli.
The Galleries shall be opened by the Vice-Chancellor of Cotton University, Bhabesh Chandra Goswami and Madhurima Baruah Sen, Secretary, Cultural Affairs Department, Govt. of Assam.
