Assam: Student dies after ADC convoy rams into students; 1 injured

Guwahati: In a horrific incident, a 14-year-old student was killed and other seriously injured after the convoy of an Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) rammed the students in Assam’s Majuli on Friday.

The incident took place in Borguri Tiniali in the district.

As per sources, duo was waiting in front of the shop when the speeding vehicle heading from Jengraimukh side lost control and rammed into students.

The deceased was the student of class 7 at the Borguri Jorbil Rupjyoti ME School, sources said.

Following the incident, one died on the spot and another injured student was rushed to the Garmur Pitambar Dev Goswami Civil Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the body of deceased was sent to hospital for autopsy.

On Thursday, at least three people have been killed following a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle in the Gopalganj area in Dhubri district on Thursday, police said.

The incident took place on National Highway 17 in the Gopalganj Belguri area. The deceased people have been identified as Jahirul and Naseer.

According to a police officer, the three people who were travelling on a bike, died on the spot after it collided with a truck which was coming from the opposite direction.

Police seized the truck however the truck driver fled from the scene following the accident.
