Guwahati: In a major development to the ongoing exam debate, the students appearing for the Higher Secondary (HS) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination will likely appear for only four papers.
Students in the HSLC exams will probably appear for the subjects of Maths, English, Science, and Social Science. Each paper will contain questions for 25 marks only.
The exams are likely to be scheduled for four days.
For science stream in HS examinations, students will have to mandatorily appear for the subjects of Physics and Chemistry. However, student can opt between Maths and Biology.
Earlier, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the board exams are likely to be conducted from July 15 to July 20, 2021, only if the COVID-19 positivity rate dips down below 2 percent.
