Assam’s swimmer Shivangi Sarma bagged her third gold in Girls’ Under-21 800 meter freestyle swimming at the Khelo India Youth Games on January 18th, 2020.

Bhavika Dugar of Tamil Nadu won silver and Jasmine Gurung of Haryana won bronze.

Earlier, Shivangi clinched gold in 400 metres freestyle Under-21.

Shivangi had won her first gold in the Girls’ (Under-21) 200 metres freestyle event on January 17th, 2020, stood on top of the podium after pipping the other swimmers in the Girls (U-21) 800 metres freestyle event.

Maharashtra continues to retain top spot with 150 medals (42 gold, 43 silver and 65 bronze) followed by Haryana with 111 medals (36 gold, 35 silver and 40 bronze) at the end of the eighth day of the event, which is underway in Guwahati since January 10th, 2020. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala make up the top 5.
