Guwahati: The dead body of an adult rhinoceros was recovered from the Brahmaputra river near Kolia Bhomora Bridge in Nagaon District on Sunday.

The local people saw the dead body of a rhino floating in the river from the Silghat side of Kaliabor.

Local people informed the forest department.

Soon after, the forest department reached the spot and recovered the body.

It is suspected that the rhino died naturally due to old age.
