Guwahati: Sensation gripped in Jorhat district’s Moriyani area on Saturday as three members of family including two women were found dead under mysterious condition.

The deceased, all from the same family, were found dead inside their thatched house near a brick kiln at Khatisona area of the district. Police said the bodies the deceased were husband, wife and daughter.

Though the reason behind their death was yet to be ascertained, preliminary probe suspected that the women were probably raped and murdered.

“The women were found in half naked condition. The deceased man was the caretaker of the brick kiln,” said police.

The deceased family hailed from Sonitpur’s Thelamara area and was living in Moriyani for months. A police investigation was on.
