Assam TMC staged a Protest against APDCL in Cachar district

Guwahati: Assam Trinamool Congress unit staged a protest against the Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL) in front of the Electricity Office in Silchar, Cachar district on Friday.

The protesters alleged that the protest was against the APDCL for electricity tariff hikes, smart meter misreading, and anomalies in bills.

In the last couple of days, the APDCL authority has been in jeopardy over the issue of electricity bills, the unit claimed.

During the protest, Assam TMC Cachar district President Rajesh Deb demanded to solve the smart meter issue by October 10, unless Cachar TMC will take mass movement against APDCL.

More than 100 ATMC members staged a sit-in protest, demanding to resolve the smart meter issue and withdraw of electricity price hike.
