Guwahati: Assam police detained two suspected Bangladeshi nationals for illegally entering the country without valid papers in Cachar district, officials said on Thursday.

As per sources, police held the two suspected Bangladeshi nationals from Silchar Railway Station.

The Bangladeshi nationals were detained by Police from Silchar Railway Station, said sources.

As per officials, the two detained Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Khokan Fakir and Mijanur Rahman.

As per sources, on October 17, the two crossed the border with help from brokers. The sources further added that they had earlier worked at a firm in Kerala for a few days.

Meanwhile, they have been taken into custody for questioning regarding the information on rackets that assist illegal immigration through international borders.
