According to eye witnesses, the incident occurred in the morning when one labour working for Shankar Das (38), private water supplier, went inside a well to pick a water pump valve.

He went inside the well by tying a rope in his body but as soon as he went dipper he suddenly fell unconscious and in order to save him Das also went inside but he too fell unconscious.

It was suspected both of them fell unconscious as there was a cow shed near the well and provably have been emitting methane.
