Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, two people sleeping in a parking lot were killed after they were run over by a tractor in Assam’s Kamrup Rural district in the early hours of Monday.
The incident took place at Assam Parking area in Baihata Chariali of the district.
As per sources, the two people were asleep when they were run over by a tractor. As a result of the accident, both of them were killed on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Mantu Singh, a resident of West Bengal and Ramu.
Meanwhile, the tractor driver fled from the spot.
After receiving the information, local police from the Kamalpur Police Station reached the spot and recovered the bodies of the deceased.
Further investigation is underway.
