Assam Woman Banished For 12 Years For Having ‘Illicit Relationships’

Guwahati: A woman in Assam’s Dhakuakhana area of Lakhimpur district was banished for 12 years from her village for allegedly involving in multiple illicit relationships.

A ‘kangaroo court’ of the village headmen decided to sent her and her family members for exile on Tuesday after she was allegedly caught in having several illicit relationships out of her marriage.

Locals claimed that the lady whose husband has been living outside the village of Dighala chapori village of the area was involved in the illicit relationships. She was reportedly caught by the villagers red handed on several occasions and was warned of her actions too.
