    Assam: Writer Rajdweep conferred with Best Popular Playwright award

    Rajdweep received the award for his award winning play ‘Bahadur’, which was written for Hengool Theatre.

    Guwahati: Popular screenwriter and playwright, Rajdweep was conferred with the ‘Best popular Playwright of the Year’ award by All Assam Cultural Unity Union.

    Rajdweep received the award for his award winning play ‘Bahadur’, which was written for Hengool Theatre. It is a beautiful love triangle in the backdrop of a serious issue of human organ trafficking.

    One of the most popular writer in Assam, Rajdweep won the award for the season 2019-2020 and the award was given at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati.

    Rajdweep has been writing plays for several mobile theatre troops. ‘Bahadur’ has been recognised as one of his most successful plays after ‘Boliya Krishna’, ‘Bauli Mur Priya’, ‘Boliya Draupadi’ etc.

    He has also written lyrics for Bollywood and Assamese movies such as ‘Jagga Jasoos’, ‘A Death in the Gunj’ etc.

    The latest Assamese Film, written by Rajdweep, is the sequel of cult Assamese film ‘Dr Bezbaruah’. Titled as ‘Dr Bezbaruah 2’ the shooting of the film is under process.
