Guwahati, January 19: Assamese film Xhoihobote Dhemalite (Rainbow fields) has been shortlisted for the prestigious MPSE-66th Annual Golden Reel Awards in foreign film category.
This is the first Assamese movie that has been shortlisted for nominations for the prestigious award.
The film directed by Assam’s Bidyut Kotoky which portrays children growing up in violent times and witnessing brutality around them has already won several awards across the globe.
The 66th Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards ceremony is scheduled on February 17 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, Los Angeles.
It acknowledges the year’s best work in the various areas of sound editing: Dialogue, ADR, Effects, Foley and Music.
The film, based on true events, narrates the psychological trauma children went through during the Assam agitation in the 1980’s. The film also features seasoned actors like Naved Aslam, Nipon Goswami and Nikumoni Barua.
