GUWAHATI: Bringing laurels to the Assamese film industry, Assamese film Bridge won the award for the best social film at the Golden Jury International Film Festival held in Mumbai.
The Award film was also selected in the Indian Panorama category for the 51st International Film Festival of India
The film, both produced and directed by Kripal Kalita, depicted the struggle of a woman living by the banks of Brahmaputra tributary in rural Assam. It revolved around Assam’s perennial flood problem.
Bridge was also selected for screening in the South-East Film Festival to be held in the USA and Light of Film Festival, Pinewood Studio to be held in London.
