Assamese Woman Weaves Bhagavad Gita on Cloth

Dibrugarh/Guwahati, December 2 : Meet Hemprabha, the famous weaver from Assam who is a resident of Dibrugarh town. The adept craftswoman has already weaved around 500 verses of Bhagvad Gita in Sanskrit and one single chapter in English.

The dedicated weaver has started off her work since last December. She has insisted the state government to give her an opportunity to display her work and preserve it in a museum.

Prior to this achievement, Hemprabha had successfully weaved six stanzas of Sankardev Gunamala on a 17 inch broad and 80 feet long Guna and Muga Silk cloth. She has been appreciated for her hard work and talent, which has encouraged her to go for Bhagavad Gita.
