    Assam’s new government to sworn-in on May 10 with adherence to COVID protocols

    The ceremony will be organized by the Government of Assam at 11:30 am at International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Panjabari in Guwahati.

    Guwahati: Assam’s new government with Himanta Biswa Sarma as chief minister will take oath on Monday with adherence to all COVID-19 protocols.

    The Assam State Disaster Management Authority in an order stated, “The State Disaster Management Authority, Assam, hereby allows holding of the swearing in ceremonies and functions as statutorily mandated subject to observance of COVID-19 protocols and COVID appropriate behavious by all during the ceremony/function.”

    The ceremony will be organized by the Government of Assam at 11:30 am at International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Panjabari in Guwahati.

    Earlier, outgoing CM Sarbananda Sonowal proposed Himanta Biswa Sarma’s name as leader of BJP legislature party paving the way for Sarma to take oath as chief minister of BJP-AGP-UPPL coalition government.

    Meanhile, Sarma and Sonowal on Sunday afternoon met Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi and staked cliam for Government formation in the state.

    Other top leaders of the NDA partners were present in the meeting with the Governor at Raj Bhawan in Guwahati.
