ASTC Launches 5 WhatsApp Helpline Numbers For Inter-District Bus Service

ASTC has launched WhatsApp helpline numbers only for those who have registered on helpline number 104 for availing inter-district bus service during the three-day window period

Following complaints from citizens, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has launched five WhatsApp helpline numbers only for those who have registered on helpline number 104 for availing inter-district bus service.

    The WhatsApp numbers are: 6026901061, 6026901062, 6026901063, 6026901064 and 6026901065.

“People who have registered on 104 can WhatsApp on these numbers and get their issues resolved,” said Anand Prakash Tiwari, MD, APSC.

Tiwari also mentioned that one can call at toll-free number 18003453986 to check their travel details.

“From today onwards, we will start giving answers to all those who have registered on 104 or filled up link,” Tiwari added.

In Guwahati, Paltan Bazar Bus Stand, Machkhowa, ISBT and Adabari points have been fixed as the designated boarding points. In all other districts, the boarding point will be district headquarter ASTC station.

Tiwari said that 200 OLA cabs have been allowed to carry passengers to ISBT, Adabari, Paltan Bazar and Machkhowa for boarding ASTC buses.

As per the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines, the Assam government has allowed the inter-district movement from April 25th, 2020 to April 27th, 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown. This will help the stranded people to commute back to their respective places.

Tiwari said “Those people who have called and registered on 104 for inter-district travel, will receive an SMS Ticket containing bus details, name, Sl no, origin and destination and time and date of journey from ASTC. Only those people will be allowed to travel in buses after showing the SMS Ticket. Others are not allowed to come out during lockdown.”

The ASTC will run buses for the three days window period for the people without any vehicles or means of transport. The buses will ply on designated routes ensuring social distancing protocols to contain the spread of COVID-19.
