The students of 3rd Semester of Gauhati University (GU) who were sitting for their pass course’s final examination on November 29th, 2019 were forced to walk out from their exam hall after it emerged that the paper handed out to them was wrong.
Students across Assam who had come at 9 am to appear for the examination alleged the GU of playing with their lives. “We had Political Science (General) exam today and when the question papers were distributed, we noticed that it carried questions from the topics which were not covered in the syllabus,” said a student.
“Anomalies are expected from the GU as every year an anomaly occurs during our final semester examinations. Due to this incident, our exam got cancelled. We will be informed later about the next date of the examination,” said another student.
The students also expressed that examination is a crucial part of their lives and “the University is least bothered”.
As per reports, the examination was of the subject Indian Constitution but the question paper provided was of International Relations.
