Guwahati: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief and perfume baron Badruddin Ajmal was admitted at a hospital in Mumbai on Sunday morning.
Ajmal who is a MP from Dhubri has been keeping unwell for several days and was on bed rest at his own residence in Mumbai. On Saturday, though he was reported to be infected with COVID 19 virus, no official confirmation has been received from the party or family.
Informing about his health, Assam health minister Himnata Biswa Sarma on Sunday tweeted that Ajmal was admitted at a Mumbai hospital after a mild dip in his oxygen saturation level.
“I am in constant touch with his family and monitoring his health. I join all in wishing him speedy recovery,” the health minister said. However, he too did not confirm about the news of Ajmal testing of COVID 19 positive.
On Friday, Ajmal himself tweeted, “Sugar level in my blood has been fluctuating since last week and I am at bed rest under doctor’s supervision at my home. I am diabetic and have confined myself to my home, avoiding travels and meetings since the pandemic broke out.”
Meantime, Sarma added that former Congress MP from Silchar, Sushmita Dev and MLA Bolin Chetia who also tested COVID 19 positive were undergoing proper medical treatment.
I am monitoring their health and also spoke to both of them, Sarma added.
