Guwahati: Bangladesh government expressed its desire to resume both flight and road connectivity between Dhaka and Guwahati.

Recently, Bangladesh foreign minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has stressed resuming a direct flight between Dhaka and Guwahati and a direct bus service between Sylhet and Silchar for promoting people-to-people contacts.

Momen said that the connectivity would boost bilateral ties, and ensure collective prosperity in the region. He made the remarks when Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Kumar Verma called on him at the foreign ministry on Tuesday.

The proposal came as the aviation officials of the two countries were in discussion about the opening of the air route in view of the demands of the people on both sides.

The neighbouring country has direct air connectivity with Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and New Delhi presently.
